ABOUT THE VISION
In 2014, the Global Diaspora Village (GDV) made its mark as a vibrant cultural and commercial showcase during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The event brought together diaspora communities, international exhibitors, and local Glaswegians in a celebration of diversity, innovation, and unity. With over 250 exhibitors, a Guinness World Record choir attempt, and thousands of attendees, GDV became a landmark moment in diaspora engagement.
As Glasgow prepares to host the Commonwealth Games once again in 2026, DCSS is proud to announce the return of GDV— reimagined, expanded, and more impactful than ever. This year’s event will be delivered in partnership with Heart for the City, a local charity with deep roots in Glasgow’s community development, and Fire for Scotland, a new Christian initiative focused on spiritual renewal and missionary outreach across Scotland.

The Global Diaspora Village will be strategically located within minutes of major sporting venues, offering visitors a seamless experience between athletic excellence and cultural celebration.
